CMB Training Center of La Turbie
A small medieval village of 3,000 inhabitants situated between Nice and Menton, La Turbie overhangs the Principality of Monaco. Celebrated for its Trophée des Alpes (Roman ruins), its architecture, and its panoramas, the village attracts many tourists each summer. But many of these tourists visit the area to see the AS Monaco Football Club CMB Training Center as well.
Located on the way to Cap d’Ail, on the border of the village, the naturally beautiful site has hosted the training sessions of the professional team as well as the academy players for nearly 25 years.
At the end of the 1970’s, the club searched for a site for their training center worthy of the prestigious organization. During the 1981-1982 season, AS Monaco FC found their location, the old Ortelli quarries whose stones were used to build the current cathedral in Monaco.
Various renovations have been made since its original construction in an effort to improve the facilities. At the end of the eighties, a strength training room was installed between the two fields within the complex.
The largest refurbishments began just before the winter of 2003. In less than two years, the project yielded all new, modern, functional facilities. The professionals and the academy players now enjoy large, open dressing rooms, a medical treatment room, a space for relaxation, a swimming pool, and a Jacuzzi. Two fields, redone in 2006 along with that of the Louis II, accommodate the everyday needs of the ASM FC players.
Since the 2006-2007 season, the CMB Training Center has also added a press room offering ideal working conditions to journalists (WIFI access, conference room, adapted technical equipment).
